What’s new

What’s new for 2018?

We want to highlight the huge range of work taking place across the third sector in Scotland. That’s why the Gathering theme for 2018 will be ‘Celebrating Charities’. We will also have 2 other key strands and themes running over the 2 days focusing on Brexit and The Year of the Young People. There will still be our usual practical and information sharing events to compliment our 2018 themes.

Many organisations and networks are facing challenging times. We can offer you the opportunity to do things differently. By working together, hosting an event or taking an exhibition stand at The Gathering you can:

  • save time and resources
  • increase networking and information sharing
  • gain access to a larger exhibition and marketplace
  • grow awareness and reach of your organisation or network

Programme of events and Gathering theatre

We have streamlined our programme to enable visitors to attend more events and also spend time browsing around the exhibition.

We’ve brought back our ‘theatre’ event space which can hold up to 100 delegates and is in the heart of our exhibition and marketplace. We have also created a brand new events space which can hold up to 225 delegates and is a great space for those slightly bigger events. Visitors will get to hear key speeches and addresses, debates, live interviews and take part in launches of products and services throughout the two days.

Exhibition and Marketplace

In 2017 we introduced ‘Social Enterprise Street’ to our Exhibition and Marketplace where visitors to the Gathering had the opportunity to meet, and buy and sample a fantastic array of goodies and gifts from Scotland’s social enterprise sector.

As well as the Gathering theatre, there will also be an opportunity for likeminded organisations to create themed zones throughout the marketplace, covering:

  • Technology and digital
  • Money
  • Funding
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Children & Young People
  • Energy
  • Environment
  • Employment, recruitment and training
  • Business
  • Advice and Information
  • Arts
  • Social enterprises and cooperatives
  • Public Sector

The marketplace will feature an array of interactive stands and activities. Visitors will get to indulge in free pampering sessions, health checks and much more.

We’ll also have a wide range of catering, seating and networking areas for visitors to relax and enjoy.
